X-Marathon 2020 announcement

Expedition racing is back on in Australia, with X-Marathon scheduled for the 11-14th of September 2020.

We’re excited to share some great news with you - the green light has been given to X-Marathon to proceed this September.

Time to get back to the fun of racing, exploring and hanging out with mates.

An exciting and challenging 36-hour course is prepared for teams of four and we cannot wait to introduce it to you.

Two courses are on offer:

  • Half – Approximately 150km; and
  • Full – 200km with 36 hours cut off and expected winning time being under 24 hours.

Both courses will consist of navigation-based kayaking, trekking and mountain biking legs. In addition, Full course teams will be offered a packrafting leg, which should be a lot of fun, with high-water expected in September.

Teams will be transported to the start of the epic linear course, which will take them on a journey of discovery, exploration and mateship.

HQ is Paynesville, a small town in East Gippsland, a 3-hour drive from Melbourne.

It is going to be an epic weekend (which we all have been missing last few months!), therefore, do not wait to book your spot, as approximately half of the available places have already been taken by teams who were booked into previous events which we had to cancel. Race capacity is limited to 25 teams.
